In Year 4 we have been learning about World War 1, with a specific focus on the Christmas truce. We have been reading a book by Hilary Robinson and Martin Impey. Today we had a go at reenacting one of the scenes from the book; where a German soldier approaches the British trench, and for one day only they make friends, play football and share gifts. The children loved getting into role and imagining how the soldiers would have been feeling at different points.
